Special activities take place throughout the year to add to our student's enjoyment. These special days provide many opportunities for learning and are an exciting enhancement to our curriculum. Children can learn more about the world around them when they can experience a variety of activities. Social skills are strengthened by meeting new people and traditions are enriched by sharing these moments with their peers and teachers. Birthday Parties at Precious Memories Place
Birthdays are special at Precious Memories Place and each child’s birthday is acknowledged. The child's name is posted on a birthday award on the door of the classroom. Recognition is given at "circle time". A "birthday bag" is available for classroom teachers to use. The bag includes celebratory activities, festive music and birthday costumes for the children to enjoy. We also offer complete pizza parties as well! After several comments by our families, stating that it is often difficult to coordinate birthday parties with other parents, due to everyone’s busy and full schedules, we offer this option here at the center. We offer pizza, cupcakes, ice cream, Gogurts, veggie & fruit platters, various party themes (for room decorating) to choose from, games, music and special activities. Items can be ordered ala carte or as a complete package.

Fire Safety Day
Precious Memories Place has an annual visit from the Old Mystic Fire Department. The children learn about fire safety and how to stop, drop and roll. They watch the fireman dress quickly in all of their gear and get to tour the truck.
Just a little bit of planning can make a big difference for your family. During fire safety week we teach the "3P's" of fire safety:
- Prepare- reduce the risk of fires in your home by eliminating hazards
- Practice- practice home fire evacuation plan and general fire safety practices
- Prevent- the unthinkable

Precious Memories Place is the premier daycare in our area because they treat our kids like family. It's a very comforting feeling when the owner of a large facility can take the time out of her day to explain the history of how they started and where they are going in the future. At every level--infant, toddler, pre-school and the new before and after partner program with Coogan Farm--our children have been happy, active, and safe...and more than ready for kindergarten! They really know our kids: what they like, what sets them off, what will distract them for a smooth and quick drop off...and they know when I need a hand getting my screaming three-year-old son into his coat, or finding an extra owl sticker for the baby, or just a pause and a chat at the end of the day before heading down the hall to gather my energetic trio.
